Project Narrative

Site-Responsive Architecture: Commanding the Horizon

Situated on a picturesque two-acre lot, The Hilltop Estate was strategically sited to occupy the highest elevation in the surrounding area. David Stumpf Architecture utilized this topography to drive the design, orienting the massing to capture an uninterrupted 180-degree panorama of the rolling countryside.

The architecture does not simply sit on the hill; it responds to it. Large glazing systems frame the horizon, ensuring that the landscape is an active participant in the daily life of the home.

Hospitality-Grade Entertainment

Designed for a growing family with a passion for hosting, the residence functions less like a standard home and more like a private lodge. The rear façade is engineered for seamless indoor-outdoor living, featuring an expansive two-story covered deck system. The centerpiece of this outdoor social zone is a monumental two-story stone fireplace, allowing for year-round gatherings. Internally, an Indoor/Outdoor Bar and Lounge bridges the gap between the kitchen and the patio, creating a fluid circulation loop perfect for large-scale events.

Volume & Lifestyle Capacity

With 6,000 SF of finished space spread across three stories, the home offers substantial capacity without feeling cavernous. The floor plan includes 8 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, providing hotel-level accommodation for extended family and guests. Beyond the sleeping quarters, the home is equipped with a dedicated wellness wing (Home Gym and Sauna) and specialized storage for an active lifestyle. In addition to the standard 3-car garage, a designated "Toy Garage" provides conditioned space for specialty vehicles and recreational gear, keeping the utility zones distinct from the formal entry.
